About Karratha Flying Services
KFS was founded in 1986 by Richard (Dick) Pym. In July 2008 Karratha Flying Services changed ownership after being sold to Kylie Smith, Michael Ardagh and Andrew Gray. The three new owners joined KFS from Cathay Pacific Airways in the capacity of Directors and line Captains. They have over 22,000 flying hours between them and extensive flying experience throughout Western Australia having been employed at various aviation companies and regional airlines during their careers. KFS currently employs 9 other pilots all based permanently in Karratha.
Dick Pym is now employed full time as the Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) and is permanently based in Karratha and available 24 hours a day.
KFS operates a varied fleet of aircraft that we can tailor to your flight requirements, whether it is an urgent freight flight anywhere in Australia, moving your employees to site or a scenic flight over the Burrup Peninsula , KFS has the aircraft to fulfill your aviation needs.
KFS operates 24/7 and is able to mobilize aircraft and crew with minimum notice.
KFS major clients include RIO Tinto, Chevron, BHP, Apache and the Deptment of the Premier and Cabinet.
